Announcement: Royal Kink Book Club Month 1

We are proud to announce the beginning of the Royal Kink Book Club. Each month we will read a kink focused book as a community and at the end of the month the Royal Kink Podcast crew will do a special podcast talking about our opinions of the book. This month our book is …

Fifty Shades of Grey is a series that many BDSM folks despise hearing about. Many believe that the series is dangerous, false, too light, and too fantasy like. Others believe that this was the story that opened the main-stream media’s focus to other sexual preferences, like BDSM, and how it’s not entirely a bad thing. No matter what side of the fence you’re standing on, the fact of the matter is that it brought our alternative lifestyle into the mouths of many. Both positive and negative attention, but it made our lifestyle known to the outsiders and brought more people into it with (hopefully) open minds.

This month, we’ve chosen to read the sequel, Grey. For the month of April I will be digesting the Fifty Shades series from the perspective of the Dominant, Mr. Christian Grey himself. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the “mommy issues” that Christian had in his series and how it placated to the main stream media’s views of why we are a part of this lifestyle. I hope this is E. L. James’ way of combating those stories. Listen to our podcast review to come later this month. Do not forget to participate in the discussion about this book HERE.
